Ramallah: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized the need for all factions to relinquish their weapons to the Palestinian Authority, asserting that the authority should have complete control in Gaza.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Abbas issued a press statement underscoring his opposition to an armed state. He also highlighted the necessity for an Israeli withdrawal, the initiation of reconstruction, the conducting of elections, and the cessation of settlement activity and violence against holy sites.

President Abbas further called for a ceasefire, the facilitation of aid entry, and the release of detainees.
