Baghdad: A passenger ferry in the port of Cesme, western Turkey, experienced an engine room malfunction while en route to the Greek island of Chios. The malfunction caused the ferry to lose control at the port entrance, leading to a collision with several Greek ships that were docked in the port.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish authorities confirmed that none of the ferry’s passengers sustained injuries during the incident. The passengers were safely evacuated from the ferry with the assistance of naval tugboats.

An investigation has been launched to assess the material damage resulting from the collision. Authorities aim to determine the precise cause of the engine room malfunction and evaluate the extent of the damage to the ships involved.
