Hilla: A policeman working for the Babil Police Command was killed in a hit-and-run accident involving a Starex van in central Hilla on Sunday morning. The incident occurred when the driver of the van ran a red light and struck the officer as he was on his way to work.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Zaher Mohammed, Director of Media for the Babil Traffic Police, confirmed that the driver of the Starex van failed to obey traffic signals, leading to the tragic incident. The officer's body has been moved to the forensic medicine department, and authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.
