Portuguese Football Federation Suspends Ronaldo for 30 Days and Fines Him

Lisbon:The Portuguese Football Federation has decided to punish Cristiano Ronaldo following his departure from the Portugal camp during the international break.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the federation imposed a 30-day suspension and a 255-euro fine on Ronaldo for leaving the national team’s camp in Denmark during the recent international window.

This disciplinary action, however, does not prevent Ronaldo from participating in Portugal’s upcoming matches against Denmark on November 14 and Wales on November 17. Ronaldo had left the camp on September 30. Under the federation’s disciplinary rules, Ronaldo faced a potential ban ranging from one to six months, along with a financial penalty. Ultimately, he received the minimum penalty of a 30-day suspension.

The federation’s decision stated that the Disciplinary Council, Amateur Section, of the Portuguese Football Federation found the charges against Ronaldo to be fully justified, resulting in his conviction for a disciplinary offence as outlined in Article 160 of the federation’s disciplinary regulations. This decision was made in a single instance and determined to be deliberate. The federation’s statement concluded with the imposition of the suspension and the fine equivalent to 2.5 accounting units, or 255 euros.
