Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi affirmed on Tuesday that Iraq’s strength and stability lie in a unified military institution that safeguards its sovereignty and enhances its security. A statement issued by the Presidency and carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) read: “President Nizar Amedi received the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, at the Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.”
According to Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the readiness level and preparedness of the armed forces were reviewed, along with plans to bolster their capabilities, including the performance of their duties. The President emphasized that Iraq’s strength and stability reside in a unified military institution that protects its sovereignty and strengthens its security.
“The role of our forces is not limited to protecting the continent but extends significantly to aspirations for consolidating and achieving greater environmental security, which will enable Iraq to move forward with reconstruction and development,” President Amedi stressed. “The Chief of Staff of the Army has strived to ensure the military institution’s continued progress in consolidating its operational capabilities, fulfilling all objectives, and enhancing its efficiency and effectiveness,” he continued.
