Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi emphasised on Tuesday the importance of holding the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference in addressing the challenges facing Iraq and the region.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office stated in a press release that “President Nizar Amedi received Abbas Al-Amiri, Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.”

“The Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue extended an invitation to the President to participate in the eighth Baghdad Dialogue Conference, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on August 21 and 22, 2026,” according to the statement.

The President stressed the importance of holding the conference, particularly in the current circumstances, emphasising “the importance of dialogue and discussions in addressing the issues and challenges facing Iraq and the region.”

“President Nizar Amidi wished the conference success in achieving its objectives,” the statement concluded.
