Baghdad: President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Sunday the importance of continued coordination among the various formations and forces to enhance the protection of citizens and maintain stability.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office stated in a press release that “President Nizar Amedi received Lieutenant General Omar Saleh, commander of the 70th Brigade, a Peshmerga formation, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.”

The meeting addressed a number of current security issues and developments, with the President stressing the importance of continued coordination among the various formations and forces to enhance the protection of citizens and maintain stability.

The President also noted the necessity of developing the capabilities of the Peshmerga forces and raising their level of readiness, praising their role in carrying out their national duties.

“Lieutenant General Omar Saleh reviewed the most prominent tasks and current situation of the 70th Brigade, while affirming the continuation of work and coordination to serve security and stability,” according to the statement.
