Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Bafel Talabani emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation among political forces to support national partnership and serve the country’s best interests.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidential Media Office stated in a press release that President Nizar Amidi received PUK leader Bafel Talabani in Baghdad on Tuesday. During the meeting, they discussed the overall situation on the domestic scene and the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region.

The statement noted that both sides stressed the importance of enhancing coordination and cooperation among political forces to bolster national partnership and serve the country’s best interests.

The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, the challenges facing Iraq, and ways to address them in accordance with the principles of Iraqi policy and while safeguarding national interests.
