Damascus:Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi visited the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus on Wednesday, accompanied by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Zaidi performed prayers in the mosque’s courtyard and toured its historical landmarks. He also left a message in the visitors’ book at the Treasury Dome located within the mosque’s courtyard.

The statement further noted that al-Zaidi made a personal donation to support the mosque’s needs.
