Baghdad: The head of the Sunni Endowment Office, Amer Shaker al-Janabi, affirmed on Monday that Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi is committed to combating corruption and enjoys broad popular and political support.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Janabi made these remarks during a celebration of the Prophet’s birthday. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s dedication to fighting corruption and noted the Iraqi people’s affection and support for al-Zubaidi’s campaign. Al-Janabi stated, “Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi is continuing his honorable and courageous fight against corruption and the corrupt, and the Iraqi people rally around him with their affection and support for this campaign.”

Al-Janabi also addressed the challenges faced by the Prime Minister, mentioning that despite increased burdens and risks, al-Zubaidi enjoys widespread backing. He expressed confidence in the government’s ability to overcome difficulties under al-Zubaidi’s leadership. He further emphasized the role of the Council of Representatives and its Speaker, Haibat al-Halbousi, in enacting laws that serve the people of Iraq, asserting that the Speaker has the courage to make decisions beneficial to the nation’s interests.
