Baghdad: The Prime Minister’s Media Office announced on Friday that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi will visit France next Sunday at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Media Office noted that “Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi will begin an official visit to France next Sunday, September 13, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.” This visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and France and explore opportunities to expand partnerships in key sectors such as energy and security.

The statement further elaborated that “Al-Zaidi will meet with French President Macron next Monday, September 14, to discuss a number of regional and international files and issues of mutual interest.” The visit is expected to enhance cooperation and address challenges shared by both nations.

Moreover, the statement highlighted that “the two sides will chair an expanded round of talks between the Iraqi and French delegations to lay the groundwork for new partnerships between Baghdad and Paris.” Discussions will encompass general frameworks for bilateral cooperation in economics, security, energy, education, and other areas. The leaders will also oversee the signing of several memoranda of understanding across various sectors, contributing to efforts to tackle regional and international challenges.
