Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi has directed that residential plots within the Watan Initiative be provided completely free of charge. A statement from his media office confirmed that eligible Iraqi families without a housing unit or property will benefit from this initiative.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s office announced that an electronic registration link for the residential plots would be launched next October. In the first phase, more than 216,000 residential plots have been prepared and identified across 15 governorates. Infrastructure work for these plots will be undertaken by donor investors and contributors at no cost.

The statement emphasized that specialized committees, under the supervision of the Prime Minister’s office, are working tirelessly to complete this project, with the ultimate goal of providing one million residential plots to the citizens.
