Baghdad: The Coordination Framework convened a periodic meeting at Haider al-Abadi’s office, with Prime Minister Ali al-Zubaidi in attendance, to deliberate on several priority political and legislative matters.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Framework’s media office highlighted that the meeting focused on the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Law, emphasizing the need to finalize its legislation to better regulate PMF operations and integrate them within state institutions. The discussion also covered critical laws such as the Oil and Gas Law, the Federal Court Law, and the Federal Council Law, all of which are essential for completing the constitutional and institutional framework of the state.

In terms of government formation, the Coordination Framework reviewed ongoing dialogues, underscoring the importance of resolving outstanding issues. The meeting decided to move forward with nominating the remaining ministers needed to finalize the government’s formation, enabling it to efficiently perform its duties.

Additionally, the internal organization of the Coordination Framework was a topic of discussion. Participants stressed the necessity of establishing regulations and rules to enhance work mechanisms and decision-making processes, thereby promoting institutionalization and a unified stance.
