Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi emphasized the important positive role of religious figures in strengthening the social fabric. A statement from his media office indicated that al-Zaidi received a delegation from the Qadiriyya Sufi Order on Thursday, headed by its legal custodian and Secretary-General, Sheikh Khalid Abdul Qadir al-Kilani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, al-Zaidi stressed the importance of the positive role of religious figures in strengthening the social fabric, particularly through adopting moderate discourse, spreading a culture of tolerance and brotherhood, combating extremist ideology, rejecting violence, hatred, and division, and reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood among all the people of Iraq.

The statement also noted the Prime Minister’s emphasis on the government’s commitment to caring for all holy religious sites. This commitment aims to provide the best possible services to visitors arriving from inside and outside Iraq, thereby contributing to the promotion and revitalization of religious tourism in the country.
