Prime Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Support Nursing Homes Across Iraq


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting nursing homes, underscoring that it is a fundamental duty of the state.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office released a statement detailing al-Sudani’s engagement with elderly residents during an Iftar meal at the al-Rashad and al-Salikh nursing homes. During the visit, al-Sudani extended his greetings to the elderly, congratulating them on the holy month of Ramadan and reaffirming his commitment to regularly meeting with them to ensure their well-being.



Al-Sudani emphasized the critical role nursing homes play in caring for the elderly, a segment of society that the government prioritizes in recognition of their past contributions to the nation. He highlighted the state’s duty to provide comprehensive support, ensuring these homes are equipped to meet the residents’ living, medical, and recreational needs.



The Prime Minister also praised the dedication of the care home staff and urged them to continue fulfilling their roles with a high sense of professional and humanitarian responsibility. He listened to the residents’ concerns and directed the relevant authorities to address their needs promptly, ensuring all necessary measures are taken to enhance their quality of life.
