Baghdad: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasized Iraq’s significance in the region during his address from the site of the martyrdom of the Victory Commanders. Ghalibaf underscored the unbreakable bonds between the Iraqi and Iranian people, highlighting the historical and cultural ties that unite the two nations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ghalibaf announced his plans to meet with senior Iraqi government officials and politicians during his visit. He is also set to participate in the 40th-day commemoration of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Ghalibaf used the occasion to remind the audience of the American government’s assassination of two prominent figures of the Resistance Axis, whom he credited with playing a pivotal role in combating ISIS in the region.
Ghalibaf further elaborated on the current geopolitical climate, stating, “In these current circumstances, everyone witnessed the strength of Iran’s resistance during the Ramadan War.” He praised the martyrs Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani, asserting that their sacrifice had led to the triumph of the resistance movement today.
In his concluding remarks, Ghalibaf addressed the commanders of victory directly, assuring them that their efforts and sacrifices continue to inspire the ongoing resistance. He pledged that Iran would continue to dedicate resources and efforts to support the Resistance Axis, reinforcing the enduring commitment to their shared cause.
