Qalibaf: We Do Not Interfere in Iraqi Affairs

Tehran: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf affirmed on Friday that his country does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs. Qalibaf stated in a press conference: “Iran does not interfere in Iraq’s internal affairs and will support any agreement between the Iraqi factions and the Baghdad government.”

According to Iraqi News Agency, Qalibaf’s remarks come amidst a backdrop of ongoing discussions and political maneuvers within Iraq, as various factions work towards stability and unity. His statement aims to clarify Iran’s position and assure that Iran respects Iraq’s sovereignty and political processes.

Qalibaf emphasized Iran’s support for any agreement reached by Iraqi factions and the Baghdad government. The statement is seen as an effort to reinforce diplomatic relations between the neighboring countries, while dispelling any notions of interference.
