Najaf: The commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Ismail Qaani, has arrived in Najaf province to take part in the funeral procession for the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. This event takes place amidst comprehensive security and logistical arrangements in the province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Qaani’s arrival is part of a broader influx of senior Iraqi and Iranian officials into Najaf, including Iraq’s Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. These officials are present to participate in the official reception ceremonies, which follow extensive preparations for the funeral.

The Iraqi government has declared an official holiday for Wednesday, with a high-level committee established to oversee the funeral proceedings. The provinces of Najaf and Karbala have completed their security and logistical plans to accommodate the large number of participants expected to attend the funeral.
