Moscow: The Russian Defense Ministry announced this morning, Wednesday, that Russian air defense systems shot down 53 Ukrainian drones overnight over the territories of nine Russian regions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry’s statement detailed the timeline and scale of the operation by noting that between 11 p.m. on October 7 and 7 a.m. Moscow time on October 8, Russian air defense systems were able to intercept and destroy the drones. The statement specified that 28 drones were intercepted over Belgorod Oblast, 11 over Voronezh, and 6 over Rostov Oblast. Additionally, two drones were brought down over Bryansk and Kursk each, while one drone was destroyed over Lipetsk, Tambov, Smolensk, and Nizhny Novgorod each.
