Riyadh: Al-Hilal Club, the leader of the Saudi Professional League, announced the signing of Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal FC on a four-year contract.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Saudi club stated in a press release: “The board of directors of Al-Hilal Club Company has finalized the procedures for signing the transfer contract of Brazilian player Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal FC, to represent Al-Hilal’s first football team for four years.”
Martinelli, who was part of Brazil’s squad at the 2016 World Cup and scored the winning goal against Japan in the round of 32, joined Arsenal in 2019 from Ituano FC. During his time with Arsenal, he scored 62 goals in 278 appearances. The 25-year-old player contributed to the team regaining the league title for the first time since the 2003-2004 season.
