Aleppo: The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they targeted a vehicle and a military site belonging to the armed factions affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Damascus government, in response to drone attacks targeting the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam in northern Syria.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the SDF stated that the Sultan Murad, Sultan Suleiman Shah/al-Amshat, and Hamza factions, affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of the Damascus government, targeted the residential area around the Tishrin Dam using two suicide drones. This attack was characterized as a dangerous escalation and a continuation of the policy of destabilizing security and stability. The SDF confirmed that the attack did not result in any casualties among their forces.
The SDF further reported that the same factions resumed their attacks on the same day, targeting the Syriatel Hill in the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam with two additional suicide drones, again without causing any casualties.
The Syrian Democratic Forces explained that in response to this repeated attack, their forces carried out a legitimate and direct response against the launch sites of the suicide drones. They noted that a Toyota military vehicle and a military position belonging to those factions were targeted, resulting in confirmed casualties among their ranks.
Clashes broke out between armed groups affiliated with the Syrian government and the SDF on December 22 in the vicinity of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, four people were killed and 25 others were wounded in the clashes.
