Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense Engages in Talks with NATO Mission Commander on Military Cooperation


Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant-General Engineer Shawan Mazhar Ali Rawandouzi, engaged in discussions with Lieutenant-General Lucas Schweyers, the Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq, along with several mission advisors, to explore avenues for joint military cooperation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense released a statement indicating that the discussions centered on the prospects for cooperation on long-term goals. The talks included exploring ways of joint coordination at the level of training individuals and human resources within the military institution. The discussions also focused on how the experiences of NATO countries could be leveraged to provide advice in logistical support to enhance the Iraqi army’s capabilities.
