Seismic Monitoring: Earthquake of Magnitude 4.6 Recorded on the Iraqi-Iranian Border


Baghdad: The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring announced today, Friday, that an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded on the Iraqi-Iranian border.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Authority indicated that seismic observatories recorded an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Iraqi-Iranian border. The statement added that the earthquake was recorded this morning, Friday, approximately 37 km northeast of the city of Khanaqin in Diyala Governorate, noting that it was felt by residents living near the epicenter.
