Sheikh Hammoudi and al-Maliki Stress the Importance of Unifying National Decision-Making with a Vision that Aligns with the Current Stage’s Requirements


Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Hammoudi, and Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, emphasized the importance of unifying national decision-making with a vision that aligns with the current stage’s requirements. A statement by Sheikh Hammoudi’s office indicated that “Sheikh Hammoudi, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, received Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, and discussed with him the latest developments in the political landscape, the outcomes of the national dialogues regarding the completion of the remaining presidencies, and the necessity of expediting this process in light of the difficult internal challenges and the sensitivity of the regional situation.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added that “both sides stressed the importance of preserving national unity, the cohesion of the coordination framework, and the spirit of harmony within it, and the need to unify national decision-making with a realistic Iraqi vision that draws on past experiences and aligns with the requirements of the current stage, considering this fundamental to the stability of the political process and the building of a strong state capable of meeting the challenges and aspirations of the people.”



It continued, “Sheikh Hammoudi and Maliki noted that shaping the features of the next phase is a responsibility that falls on everyone and requires a responsible and cooperative approach.”
