Baghdad: Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in the ongoing anti-corruption campaign during a speech at a recent dialogue forum. “The purification of political action and the cleansing of institutions from corruption must continue according to a vision that includes everyone,” he stated, highlighting the need for a transparent and inclusive approach.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hamoudi stressed that a collective will exists to confront corruption. He called for a transparent strategy that encompasses all sectors without exception, ensuring that the fight against corruption is both comprehensive and equitable. Sheikh Hamoudi also reflected on the role of resistance in supporting the state during critical times, noting that its necessity will diminish as the state strengthens its sovereignty across land, air, and sea.

He further remarked that Iraq should not position itself as a counterbalance in regional politics and emphasized the importance of parliamentary oversight in investment agreements. He urged parliament to remain impartial and free from partisan influence, ensuring that agreements are thoroughly reviewed. Additionally, Sheikh Hamoudi called on academic and scientific elites to craft a forward-thinking vision for Iraq’s development, tailored to the nation’s unique circumstances and inspired by successful global models.

Sheikh Hamoudi also addressed the issue of partisanship in public affairs, rejecting its interference in the administrative operations of state institutions. He expressed support for independent employees who assume leadership roles within these institutions, reinforcing the commitment to a non-partisan approach in public administration.
