Baghdad: Head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, called for prioritizing the public interest and expediting the completion of constitutional requirements.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by his office indicated that Sheikh Hamoudi received MP Jawad Rahim al-Saadi, Secretary-General of the Jihad and Construction Movement, and they discussed the latest political developments and the outcomes of the national dialogues regarding the formation of the remaining branches of government.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamoudi stressed the necessity of prioritizing supreme national interests and building responsible consensus to expedite the completion of constitutional requirements. This, he argued, would enhance political stability and ensure the smooth functioning of state institutions, considering it an urgent necessity given the various challenges facing the country and the tensions in the region.
At the same time, Sheikh Hamoudi stressed the importance of unifying national efforts and maintaining harmony to move to a new phase that meets the aspirations of citizens and strengthens their confidence in the constitutional democratic system.
