Diwaniyah: The local government in Diwaniyah has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese companies “Ru’ya al-Balaghi” and “CAM C” to establish the Diwaniyah International Airport, marking a strategic move to bolster trade and investment in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Diwaniyah Governor Abbas al-Zamili announced through the governorate’s media that the memorandum includes plans for a free investment zone. The agreement involves cooperation between the two Chinese companies and the governorate’s investment authority to finalize the necessary administrative and legal procedures for investing in the available opportunities, specifically the commercial airport and the free zone.

Governor al-Zamili also emphasized the importance of supporting and facilitating the companies’ procedures to enhance the governorate’s economy and create job opportunities.
