Hillah: Dozens of owners and drivers of small and large private transport buses staged a sit-in in front of the Babylon Governorate building on Saturday evening in protest against the decision of the General Traffic Directorate to take their old vehicles out of service. The protest led to the blockage of main streets inside Hillah.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the sit-in witnessed a heavy security presence as the authorities tried to manage the situation. The decision by the General Traffic Directorate has sparked discontent among the transport community, as many rely on their vehicles for their livelihood. The demonstrators voiced their concerns over the economic impact of the decision, urging the authorities to reconsider and provide alternatives or support for those affected.
