SMC Announces Successful Airstrike on ISIS Hideout in Diyala

Baghdad: The Security Media Cell-SMC announced on Saturday the destruction of a hideout belonging to ISIS terrorist gangs in an airstrike in the Narin (Al-Qati’a) area of Diyala.

According to Iraqi News Agency, SMC stated that this operation is part of a comprehensive strategic effort to track the remnants of terrorist elements and sever the connections between their defeated cells. The armed forces are actively conducting preemptive operations to eliminate any presence of these terrorist gangs in the homeland.

The statement further mentioned that accurate intelligence provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate, alongside continuous monitoring by the Air Reconnaissance and Surveillance Center at the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, led to the detection of an ISIS hideout in the Narin (Al-Qati’a) area, under the jurisdiction of the Diyala Operations Command.

The operation saw Iraqi Air Force F-16 aircraft execute a precise airstrike using two missiles, resulting in the complete destruction of the targeted hideout. The SMC emphasized that the armed forces remain steadfast in their mission to eradicate any threats to Iraq’s security, declaring that death awaits any terrorist who believes they can find refuge on Iraqi soil.
