Spain Train Collision Death Toll Climbs to 50

Urda:Spain Spanish authorities have confirmed that the death toll from a recent train collision has increased to 50. The collision, which involved two trains, occurred in the region of Castilla-La Mancha.

According to Iraqi News Agency, initial reports indicated at least ten fatalities, but the number has since escalated. The mayor of Urda, Manuel Galán, confirmed the incident to Spanish state television, noting the presence of numerous injured individuals at the site.

A spokesperson for the Spanish emergency services detailed that the collision happened shortly before 900 a.m. local time. Emergency response teams, including firefighting units, three medical helicopters, and two mobile intensive care units, have been deployed to assist those affected.

The Spanish railway infrastructure manager, ADIF, has announced a complete suspension of train services on the high-speed line connecting Madrid to the southern region of the country, a measure that will remain in effect until further notice. This incident follows a similar train disaster in the Adamuz area, where 46 people lost their lives less than a year ago.
