Duhok: Duhok FC managed to defeat the defending champions, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, 2-1 in a match held at Duhok Stadium as part of the fifth round of the Iraqi Premier League.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya took the lead first through their captain, Saad Abdul-Amir, in the 16th minute. Despite this early advantage, Duhok’s Syrian professional, Mahmoud Al-Mawas, missed a penalty kick at the end of the first half, preventing them from equalizing at that point.

Duhok’s Brazilian professional, Henrique, brought his team back into the game by converting a penalty kick in the 74th minute. Demonstrating his critical role in the team, Henrique scored again in the final minute of regular time, securing a 2-1 victory for Duhok.

As a result of this match, Duhok increased their points tally to 7, positioning them seventh in the league standings. In contrast, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya remained with 4 points, derived from four draws and one loss, placing them fourteenth in the league.
