Baghdad:Head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan Al-Mousawi, emphasized that placing all weapons under state control is crucial for protecting society and maintaining civil peace.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mousawi’s statement was made in observance of the International Day of Non-Violence on October 2. He highlighted that nations are not built through conflict but through dialogue and peace, particularly in Iraq, which has long endured violence. Al-Mousawi stressed that Iraq’s people deserve to live in safety and tranquility.
He further noted that differences should not lead to hostility and disputes cannot be settled through violence. Respect for the state, law, and institutions is where Iraq’s sovereignty begins, he stated.
Al-Mousawi reiterated the importance of placing weapons under state control to ensure societal protection and civil peace. He called for adopting dialogue, adhering to the law, and choosing peace as the means to resolve conflicts, affirming that Iraq deserves to be secure, united, and governed by the principles of state and law.
