Baghdad The Yazidi MP from the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, Sharif Suleiman, affirmed: The Kurdistan region’s determination to guarantee its share of the upcoming budget in accordance with the constitution.
He told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): In the event that the region’s negotiations with the federal government begin on the budget, we will demand a fair share commensurate with the population and according to the constitution.
Suleiman added: The constitution stipulates that the governorates and the region be given their share of the budget according to the population ratio.
He continued: There were problems in the previous period, but this time we will demand a fair share in accordance with the constitution, and that there is an understanding between the two sides about it.
Suleiman stressed: The need for Parliament to fulfill its duty to achieve justice and equality in all its entitlements, the most important of which is the budget.
