Shalamcheh:The Border Ports Authority has announced the arrest of a suspect found in possession of counterfeit local currency at the Shalamcheh border crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority revealed that units at the Shalamcheh border crossing intercepted an Iraqi national carrying counterfeit local currency. The suspect had 25,000 Iraqi dinar notes, divided into two portions and hidden inside his personal wallet.

The Authority reported that an official seizure report was filed. Both the suspect and the confiscated counterfeit currency have been referred to the Organized Crime Department in Shatt al-Arab for the necessary legal proceedings.
