Syrian-Iraqi talks in field of water resources

Baghdad, Iraqi Minister of Water Resources, Awn Diab Abdullah, discussed with Syrian Ambassador to Baghdad, Satam Jadaan Al-Dandah, the ways to develop joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resources.

Ambassador Al-Dandah told SANA correspondent that the meeting focused on the importance of the historic relations between the two countries, and the need to work on developing them to serve security, stability and the interests of the two peoples.

Al-Dandah indicated that the two sides discussed prospects for joint cooperation in the field of water resources, in a way that serves the common interests of both countries, and unified positions to face the challenges of water shortage, especially after the countries of the region were exposed to a wave of drought for consecutive years and the irrigation facilities were damaged, as a result of the attacks of terrorist organizations on them, especially Daesh terrorists.

In turn , Abdullah underlined the necessity of unifying the visions and continuing to work together in order to improve the irrigation situation in the two countries.
