Basra: The Iraqi Artists Syndicate, Basra branch, announced the passing of artist Kamel Al-Azraq after a battle with illness. In a statement, the syndicate expressed its sorrow over the loss of a beloved figure in the artistic community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, “With his passing, another star of creativity and visual art has fallen, and a beloved face, cherished by the public, has vanished. With him, many of his comedic quips, his laughter, and his charming presence that brought smiles to the faces of those around him have gone.” The statement continued, “Uncle Kamel was not only an artist, but also a beautiful soul and a memory that will remain present among his colleagues and admirers.”
