Diwaniyah: The Diwaniyah Police Command announced on Tuesday that it had taken control of a large number of fake social media pages in Diwaniyah Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Falcons Intelligence Cell has identified the owners of these fake pages, marking a significant step towards curbing misinformation in the region. This initiative is intended to lead to the arrest of those responsible and to make their activities known to the public.

The fake pages had been targeting government employees, public figures, and politicians, spreading false information. The command confirmed the identification of 40 individuals using anonymous accounts for these purposes and announced the takeover of related anonymous groups.
