The Minister of Trade calls on Egyptian companies, businessmen and investors to participate in the great investment opportunities in the Iraqi market

The Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, called on Egyptian companies, businessmen and investors to participate in the large investment opportunities in the Iraqi market.

A statement by the Ministry of Trade stated that the Minister of Trade, Atheer Al-Ghurairy, headed the Iraqi delegation in the preparatory meetings at the ministerial level for the second session of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian Supreme Committee, today, Monday, to review the final version of the minutes of the Supreme Committee's meetings, memorandums of understanding, agreements, and protocols that were drafted and prepared by the committee. At the level of experts during its meetings over the past two days, which are signed by the Prime Ministers of the Republics of Iraq and Egypt.

During his speech on this occasion, the Minister affirmed the Iraqi government's keenness to support the bonds of political, economic, commercial, investment, financial, scientific and technical cooperation and to achieve the highest levels of joint cooperation.

He pointed out that "Iraq at this stage made great efforts in economic openness and trade cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries, the fruits of which were many meetings and the holding of joint technical committees in preparation for establishing partnerships with those countries in all fields, and working jointly to build integrated economic interests as well as work to develop Trade exchange, creating ways and overcoming obstacles that stand in front of it.

The Minister stressed, according to the statement, that the meetings of the Supreme Committee in its second session in our second country, Egypt, under the guidance and care of the leadership of our two countries, is an opportunity to learn about the experiences of the two countries in the field of economy, investment, trade and technical transformation, to enhance joint bilateral relations, pointing out that Iraq is currently witnessing fundamental economic changes within the program an integrated government by encouraging industry and agriculture and giving a major role to the private sector and supporting it to contribute to the economic development process.

According to the statement, Al-Ghurairy called on Egyptian companies, businessmen and investors to participate in the large investment opportunities available and benefit from the promising Iraqi market to establish partnerships with their Iraqi counterparts, in addition to his call to strengthen and expand participation in international and specialized exhibitions that are held on the lands of the two brotherly countries, especially the Baghdad International Fair and the Cairo International Exhibition and continue to hold technical conferences and seminars.

For her part, Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, affirmed the existence of a strong will, supported by a clear vision of the political leaderships in Egypt and Iraq, to work towards enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries and achieving strategic integration at the economic, commercial and investment levels.

It is noteworthy that the draft minutes included an invitation to sober and accredited Egyptian companies to participate in the reconstruction campaign, which will be launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.
