The Municipality of Baghdad enters the state of maximum alert

Baghdad The Mayor of Baghdad, Eng. Ammar Musa Kadhim, instructed all the staff and mechanisms of the Municipality departments to enter a state of high alert and mobilize efforts to drain and siphoning rainwater.

Kadhim said in a statement: “All the mechanical and human efforts of the Municipality of Baghdad are mobilized to drawing and siphoning rainwater from the streets and residential neighborhoods in the capital, Baghdad,” stressing that “there is a high intensity of rain that lasted for several hours and is still continuing at a rate that exceeds the design capacity of the Baghdad network.”

He added: “Some of the electric power lines feeding the stations went out of service, and the Minister of Electricity was contacted, who expressed full cooperation to restore them to service and ensure that the stations operate at their maximum capacity.”
