The President Of The Republic Affirms Iraq’s Rejection Of Any Violation Of Its Sovereignty


Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Rashid discussed on Monday with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Maher Tarawneh, ways to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries. The Presidency stated in a statement that “President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed, during his reception today at Baghdad Palace with the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq, Maher Tarawneh, that Iraq rejects any violation of its sovereignty. They also discussed developments on the regional and international arenas and the importance of continuing joint coordination to contribute to supporting the security and stability of the region.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rashid affirmed “Iraq’s firm position calling for respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs,” stressing that “Iraq rejects any violation of its sovereignty and refuses to be a launching pad for any aggression against other countries.”



For his part, Ambassador Tarawneh expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s positions, affirming the Kingdom of Jordan’s support for Iraq’s efforts to consolidate security and stability and develop its regional and international relations.
