Trabzonspor: Trabzonspor of Turkey were eliminated from the Europa League after a 4-0 defeat to their Hungarian hosts, Ferencváros, in the second leg of the playoff round. Egyptian star Mohamed Salah started the match but was substituted midway through the second half, appearing visibly affected and disappointed as the deficit widened and a comeback seemed impossible.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trabzonspor faced a difficult situation after Ruslan Malinovskyi was sent off early in the first half (12th minute), followed by Ferencváros’ Callum Oduda scoring the first goal in the 19th minute. The collapse continued with Marius Corbo’s goal in the 54th minute, and the Turkish team received another red card, this time for Sidnei Cabral.

Goalkeeper Onana then conceded a third goal from a penalty kick converted by Bamidil Yusuf in the 58th minute. Kristian Lisic added a fourth goal for Ferencváros in the 84th minute with a superb low shot that Onana couldn’t stop. Trabzonspor were eliminated from the
tournament with a 5-0 aggregate loss, having lost the first leg 1-0 at home.

This marked Salah’s first setback with his new team, officially ending his European campaign. The defeat left fans and the team reflecting on a challenging match that highlighted the need for better discipline and strategic planning in future tournaments.
