Fethiye: Trkiye has successfully gained control over the forest fires in the Fethiye district of Mugla province, located in the southwest of the country, after a challenging and intensive air and ground intervention.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish Civil Defense teams, along with specialized firefighting aircraft and helicopters, executed a coordinated operation to manage the fires. The intervention required many hours due to the rugged mountainous terrain and dense forests. The operation successfully limited the spread of the fires, preventing them from reaching additional residential areas.

The Turkish Civil Defense reported that the rapid response and intensive intervention played a crucial role in averting more serious damage. The flames had initially threatened residential homes, but swift action by the specialized teams mitigated the risk of a larger disaster. The teams are currently monitoring the fire sites to ensure there is no reignition, following standard precautionary measures in place for mountainous areas prone to hot and dry climatic conditions, which could heighten the risk of renewed ignition.
