Truck Carrying Oil Seized at Al-Walid Border for Violating Import Regulations

Al-walid: A truck loaded with oil was seized at the Al-Walid border crossing for violating import regulations and conditions. The Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of a vehicle loaded with oil at the Al-Walid border crossing, highlighting concerns over import regulation compliance.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority reported that the Al-Walid border crossing directorate intercepted the vehicle at the search and inspection point. The truck was found to be carrying basic oils, and upon closer inspection, it was discovered that the quantity of the shipment had been manipulated to evade customs duties and taxes, leading to a loss of public funds.

The Authority’s statement further detailed that a formal seizure report was prepared, and the vehicle was transferred to the Al-Walid Customs Police Station. The case is now set to be presented to the investigating judge in Rutba to initiate legal action against those responsible.
