Baghdad: US President Donald Trump announced early Sunday morning that he had agreed to postpone an attack on Iran at the request of Iran itself and other Middle Eastern countries. Trump shared this development on his "Truth Social" platform, indicating that the postponement was agreed upon after reaching an understanding on the outlines of a potential deal. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump revealed that the agreed-upon outlines of the deal include the immediate and complete opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the termination of the Iranian nuclear threat. He emphasized the significance of this agreement for global stability and Iran's future, stating that he agreed to cancel the attack in exchange for the possibility of reaching an agreement quickly. Trump further asserted that the United States remains at full combat readiness and is prepared to act against Iran if necessary. He also noted that Israel is aligned with the US in its commitment to canceling the planned attack, provided that an agreement with Iran is concluded swiftly.
