Turkey Denies Allowing Its Territory Or Airspace To Be Used To Target Iran

Baghdad: Turkey has categorically denied claims circulating about its permission to use its territory or airspace during strikes against Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications’ Disinformation Center stated in a press release Saturday evening: “The claims circulating on some social media platforms that Turkey supported the recent attacks against Iran are completely unfounded and aim to mislead public opinion.”

The statement continued: “Turkey will not allow any of its air, land, or sea assets, including its airspace, to be used for operational purposes on behalf of any party in any conflict or war in which it is not a party. This issue is among the fundamental principles of our foreign and security policy.”

The statement concluded: “Turkey’s sovereign rights over its airspace, land, and sea are complete and indisputable, and all activities related to our sovereign territory are carried out exclusively in accordance with Turkish national security assessments and under the supervision and control of the competent authorities.”

The Media Misinformation Center, in its statement, urged the public to disregard conflicting or unfounded claims and to rely solely on statements issued by official authorities.
