According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conversation between Fidan and the Kurdish leaders came at a crucial time. Earlier, the Kurdistan Region announced a significant security breach involving the targeting of the Prime Minister’s private office and the residence of the head of its security service by drones launched from Iran.

The drone attack is part of the broader context of the ongoing repercussions of the US-Israeli war on Iran, which began on February 28th.
