Turkish Foreign Minister Engages in Talks with Kurdistan Leaders on Regional Developments

Erbil: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed regional developments with Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. This discussion took place through a phone call, where the leaders shared their perspectives on the latest occurrences in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conversation between Fidan and the Kurdish leaders came at a crucial time. Earlier, the Kurdistan Region announced a significant security breach involving the targeting of the Prime Minister’s private office and the residence of the head of its security service by drones launched from Iran.

The drone attack is part of the broader context of the ongoing repercussions of the US-Israeli war on Iran, which began on February 28th. In response to the war, Tehran has been launching missiles and drones at Israel and targeting what it claims are US interests in neighboring countries, including Iraq.
