He expressed optimism that the approach taken by Turkey could serve as a model for Iraq, facilitating the cleansing of terrorist organizations and armed groups from its territory.
The discussions between the Turkish and Iraqi parliamentary leaders also covered other strategic issues, including the “Development Road” project, which aims to bolster connectivity and economic integration between Asia and Europe via Iraq and Turkey. Kurtulmus reiterated his support for this project, emphasizing its potential to yield mutual benefits and enhance cultural and economic ties.
