Ankara: Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Burhanettin Duran affirmed that his country is resolutely and steadily moving towards its goal of achieving full energy independence.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a post on his account on the Turkish platform “InSocial,” Duran stated that Turkey “has a voice in the deep seas and is now resolutely moving towards the goal of full energy independence.”
He added that the two new seventh-generation drilling vessels, ‚¬Å¡¬¡agri Bey and Yildirim, with a drilling capacity of up to 12,000 meters, have added a new dimension to Turkey’s fleet. With this step, Turkey has become the fourth largest country in the world in terms of deep-sea drilling fleets.
Duran further noted in his post that the Yildirim vessel will contribute to boosting production in the Sakarya field, while the ‚¬Å¡¬¡agri Bey vessel will head to the Somali coast for new discoveries in that country.
