Mosul: Security forces announced the arrest of 12 individuals following a tribal clash in Mosul.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Security Media Cell stated in a press release: “The Nineveh Police Command investigated the full details of the clash, which was recently circulated on social media, in the right bank of Mosul, and arrested 12 suspects.”

The statement further explained: “The incident occurred on September 12, 2026, in the Al-Nahrawan (Al-Tank) neighborhood of Mosul, stemming from family disputes and previous lawsuits between cousins belonging to the same tribe. The conflict escalated after arguments, insults, and extortion attempts via the TikTok platform. A force from the Nineveh Police immediately moved in, secured the area, and arrested the suspects from both sides with judicial warrants.”

She added, “Later, three defendants were released on bail to receive hospital treatment due to their health conditions. It was confirmed that no deaths were recorded and that the damage was limited to minor injuries and wounds on both sides.”
