According to National Iraqi News Agency, Olexander Syrskyi, commander of the army, emphasized the importance of preserving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. He stated, “In the most difficult situation, my priority has been and will remain saving the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. To this end, defense forces units, when necessary, maneuver toward more favorable positions.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its forces had regained control of 12 towns and more than 100 square kilometers in the Kursk region, large parts of which had been under Ukrainian control.
